VR Europe – LET’S VOTE

Experience politics first hand

Would you like to visit the European Parliament at any time and see how political decisions are made? No problem with VR Europe. The app, which recently won the World Media Award, combines virtual reality and interaction in a unique way. Thanks to state-of-the-art 360° video technology, users can look into important fields of action of the European Union and experience decision-making processes of international politics up close.

Political interest and understanding thanks to virtual reality

Enthusiasm for European politics is often limited, especially among young adults. The decision-making processes in Brussels simply seem too complicated and too far away, while politicians don’t seem very approachable. This is exactly where the VR Europe app comes into play, which we developed together with TVN CORPORATE MEDIA and the European Information Center Lower Saxony. With a click on the download button, it offers interested individuals a low-threshold and highly modern opportunity to virtually travel to Brussels and get to know all the institutions of the EU. In 360° mode, users can enter the European Parliament in Brussels, virtually sit in the plenary chamber and learn within just 20 minutes how laws are passed in Europe.

For example, they can see first-hand how the European Directive on the prevention of plastic waste is passed – an exciting topic for politics lessons that now reaches students on a whole new level. In the school package, teachers will therefore also find extensive teaching materials. In order to provide even more detailed information, show tangible examples, and create an even more personal connection between users and European politics, we are currently implementing additional variants of VR Europe for various German states: Being beamed from Düsseldorf to Brussels and finding out which important issues affect your own federal state in particular and who makes decisions for the residents here – VR Europe NRW offers all of this, for example.

The aim of the app is to get young adults interested in politics, to explain complex issues in a way that is easy to understand, and to motivate students to take a closer look at political issues and get involved themselves.

A holistically impressive experience

The virtual trip really sticks in the mind when the smartphone can be used with a VR headset for the all-round experience. If students and other interested individuals insert the smartphone with the app into a cardboard or plastic headset and also use headphones, they can immerse themselves completely in the political events and feel as if they were actually there live. And all this at a manageable cost.

By the way, the European Parliament is not the only place where VR applications can be used to provide interactive and vivid explanations. Interactive 360° videos are also wonderfully suitable for training, onboarding and much more. Just contact us and discover all the possibilities of VR!

    VR bubbles

VR bubbles – The Virtual Reality App for a more respectful coexistence

Values partly consciously, but mostly also unconsciously affect the way we live together in society. This exciting VR application helps us to bring you closer to different views on various values in an impressive way. In summer 2020, our interactive 360° application was honored with the Integration Award 2020 by the State Chancellery of Lower Saxony through Minister President Stephan Weil as well as the State Commissioner for Migration and Participation, Doris Schröder-Köpf.

In VR bubbles, workshop participants* not only get to know their own values and their origins better, but also receive an insight into other value concepts. Swap into a unique 360° world and meet new people and other perspectives. Together you will experience a completely new kind of empathy and find out what really makes a respectful coexistence.

Different perspectives on intercultural values with VR Bubbles

Within the app you will encounter values not only through exciting stories, but also hip hop and rap in an innovative 360° application. Following the motto “Out of your bubble into VR!”, the application breaks down boundaries in the mind and opens up space for more tolerance, open-mindedness and community.

The VR bubbles app, which has won several awards, was sponsored by the state of Lower Saxony and the city of Hanover and links intercultural training with virtual reality. In cooperation with the association IKJA e.V. we want to encourage young people to reflect on their own values through this project. By dealing with their own values we establish a democratic and peaceful coexistence.

VR bubbles is the convergence of virtual reality and intercultural training

The innovative VR application is applied in the framework of workshops on respectful coexistence. Thus it is both an app and an intercultural training. It is this unique combination of fun and learning which makes the application so unique.

Especially young people shall be addressed with this innovative, intercultural 360° App. To achieve this, the association IKJA e.V. uses the App VR bubbles for intercultural training. The app is an exciting way to communicate values in class, in seminars or at home. Respectful interaction and intercultural coexistence will no longer be taught only as theoretical concepts, but as memorable experiences.

      Impression Depression

Depression as a virtual reality experience

More than four million Germans are affected by depression and about 10,000 people take their own lives every year. Not only because of these shocking numbers, but also because of the many individual fates of countless people, the topic deserves more attention!

The Robert Enke Foundation has been doing incredibly important work in exactly this area for many years. Shortly before the tenth anniversary of the death of the former German national goalkeeper Robert Enke, who saw no way out because of his depressions, the Robert Enke Foundation would like to use a virtual reality experience to awaken understanding and above all to educate those not affected. – We at timmersive had the honor to support and accompany this great project.

An impressive project of the Robert Enke Foundation with great partners

The importance of the project, which was presented under the title “Impression Depression”, was already made clear by the presence of the Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn at the official presentation. Together with Teresa Enke, Chairman of the Board of the Robert Enke Foundation, he presented the great project in Berlin at the end of October.

In the course of the Virtual Reality project we worked together with other enthusiastic partners. The main implementer was the agency Creanovo, who contributed their VR know-how as well as our VR colleagues from visionme, with whom the VR-Experience was created.

More understanding through the impressive virtual reality education campaign

The jointly created VR experience should not only make more people more aware of the topic of depression, but should also sensitize them to it and awaken more understanding for those affected. For this purpose, we shot unique 360° images of timmersive in the German national team’s cabin, which we are happy to publish on our website.

These are part of the 6 to 10-minute tour through the psyche of a person suffering from depression. During this tour, even non-affected persons can experience the thoughts and feelings, but also the symptoms and everyday life of a person affected. The project consists of both an introduction and the VR experience itself as well as a subsequent reflection. In the latter, the thoughts are directed back into the positive. Under the guidance of specialists, we thus ensure lasting impressions on the topic of depression!

Unique learning experience with ViRtual Water

ViRtual Water is an exciting and unique VR experience. In an instructive and at the same time playful way, you dive into the spheres of virtual water. This describes the indirect and even actual water consumption used in the production of products. For example, 1,000 liters of water are used in the production or extraction of one liter of milk. A single cup of coffee contains a whole 250 liters of water.

In ViRtual Water, you’ll not only learn about the water consumption of your daily coffee. You will also learn and experience the water consumption of various everyday products in an impressive way. As this is a VR Experience, you will really experience the water quantities used for product production. This gives you a much better feeling of how much water is actually indirectly contained in a product.

With our VR application, you move around in a virtual supermarket. Using a shopping list, it is your task to put different products in your shopping cart. This sounds like a normal supermarket shopping trip; however, with every product you put in your cart, more and more water will flood into the supermarket. So it is literally up to you how much the supermarket is flooded.

So think carefully before you put products in the cart. Many foods have alternatives that require less virtual water during the production process. For example, the water used to produce oat milk is much less than that used for normal whole milk.

True to the motto of the VR application, “stay dry – or die,” your goal is to get to the checkout without drowning. On your walk through the water-flooded supermarket aisles, you will learn in a unique way about the water consumption that goes into the manufacturing of your everyday products.
